Mrs. Nechama Lazar, a longtime resident of Crown Heights and matriarch of a large Lubavitch family passed away on the first day of Sukkos.

Mrs. Nechama Lazar, a longtime resident of Crown Heights and matriarch of a large Lubavitch family passed away on the first day of Sukkos, 5783.

She was 84 years old.

Nechama was the daughter of the renowned chossid and mashpia Harav Avrahom Boruch Pevzner,who served as a chozer of the Rebbe Rashab. In 5700/1940, he was arrested by the KGB for his “crime” of spreading Yiddishkeit and he passed away in exile in Khazakstan.

She is survived by her husband Yisroel Chaim Lazar, and children; Rabbi Yosef Yehuda Lazar – Cortefiel, CA; Esther Raitport – Crown Heights; Rabbi Avrohom Boruch Lazar – Coral Springs, FL; Rabbi Levi Lazar – Pomona, NY; Dini Lazar – Crown Heights; Rabbi Moshe Lazar -Pomona, NY; grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is also survived by her sister Mrs. Fruma Junik.

She was predeceased by her siblings Rabbi Hillel Pevzner, Rabbi Itche Pevzner and Mrs. Yehudis Raksin.

The Levaya will take place on Wednesday, 12:00 at Shomrei Hadas. Passing 770 at 1:00.

Shiva will take place after Yom Tov.
