Mrs. Miriam Labkowski, a shlucha from Los Angeles and matriarch of a large Lubavitch family, passed away on Tuesday, 29 Kislev, 5781.
She was 59 years old.
Mrs. Labkowski was born to her parents Rabbi Yehoshua “Heyshke” and Mrs. Asya Devorah Dubrawsky. After her marriage to Rabbi Menachem Mendel Labkowski, the couple moved to Los Angeles, where Mrs. Labkowski ran the Gan Chabad preschool, and her husband gave shiurim and served as a shliach to the French speaking community.
In recent weeks, Mrs. Labkowski battled a illness, and thousands around the world prayed for her recovery.
Mrs. Labkowski is survived by her children: Aidy Chazan – Los Angeles, CA, Nochum Labkowski – Los Angeles, CA, Eliezer Labkowski – Los Angeles, CA, Leah Kesselman – Los Angeles, CA, Mushky Rosenfeld – Florida, Zalman Labkowski – Crown Heights and Sender Labkowski – Crown Heights.
She is also survived by her siblings Mrs. Sara Gurewitz – Lyons, France; Rabbi Fitche Dubrawsky – Curitiba, Brazil; Rabbi Mendel Dubrawsky – Dallas, TX; and Mrs. Chana Katzman – Staten Island, NY.
She was predeceased by her husband Rabbi Menachem Mendel Labkowski in 2012. She was also predeceased by her siblings Mrs. Zlata Geisinsky in 2010 and Rabbi Lipa Dubrawsky in 2013.
The Levaya will take place today, Tuesday, in Los Angeles at 3:30 pm at Congregation Levi Yitzchok, 356 N La Brea and then passing Zlata’s preschool (BCM) at 4:00 pm.
The kevurah will be tomorrow, Wednesday, in Montefiore Cemetery in Queens, New York.
