Mr. Sheldon Lisbon, who was born in a DP camp in Germany and went on to become a devoted teacher for over 50 years in Washingston DC and later in Miami, passed away on Thursday, 3 Kislev.
Mr. Sheldon Lisbon of Bal Harbor, FL, who was born in a DP camp in Germany and went on to become a devoted teacher for over 50 years in Washingston DC and later in Miami, passed away on Thursday, 3 Kislev, 5781.
He was 74 years old.
Born in a DP Camp in Germany after the Holocaust, he immigrated with his parents to Worcester, Massachusetts. He studied at Yeshivas Achei Temimim under the guidance of Rabbi Hershel Fogelman.
Mr. Lisbon was a devoted teacher for over 50 years, starting in the Washington DC public school system and more recently in Miami at Bais Yaakov and in LEC. His love for his students and true care for each one changed the lives of many for the better. He will surely be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife Miriam Lisbon, son Dennis Lisbon and his family, and his daughter Julie Schreiber and her family.
He is also survived by his brothers Rabbi Binyamin Lisbon and Rabbi Elchonon Lisbon and sister Mrs. Ruchama Thaler.
The family is sitting Shiva until Friday in Miami and in Baltimore.
