Morristown Community Celebrates Chof Cheshvan with Grand Hakhel

In connection with 20 Cheshvan, and the Siyum HaRambam on Sefer Avodah, the Morristown community held a Hakhel gathering on Sunday night.

In connection with 20 Cheshvan, and the Siyum HaRambam on Sefer Avodah, the Morristown community held a Hakhel gathering on Sunday night.

At program began with Rabbi Elimelech Backman welcoming the Anash community of Morristown, Yeshivas Tomchei Temimim, and Yeshivas Teiferes Bochurim. Rabbi Moshe Herson, head Shliach to the state of New Jersey, then addressed the crowd.

Rabbi Yosef Zeidman and Rabbi Yitzchok Tennenbaum ended and began Sefer Avodah and Korbanos of the Rambam respectively. A special video presentation about the Hakhel year 5748 by the Rebbe, produced by some of the Bochurim in Yeshiva, was shown.

The guest speaker of the evening, Rabbi Moshe Gourarie, Shliach of the Rebbe to Toms River NJ, who is also very involved in Project Likkutei Sichos, shared words of inspiration connected to Hakhel with the assembled.

Rabbi Chaim Schapiro then announced a new initiative that will have the Bochurim Yeshivas Tomchei Temimim, Yeshivas Tiferes Bachurim, and Anash of Morristown gathering for an evening of learning once a week.

The evening concluded with a lively Farbrengen led by Rabbi Gourarie.

The event was sponsored in memory of Rabbi Meilech Zwiebel a”h, longtime Mashpia of the Yeshiva, whose 6th Yartzeit was on Sunday.
