Over Shavuos, the Crown Heights Beis Din hosted visiting rabbonim in the Rebbe’s shchunah for a program that included a buffet lunch, divrei Torah, a halachic presentation on fertility and geirus, and a siyum on Maseches Sotah.
On Sunday, Erev Shavuos, 5 Sivan 5785 (June 1st), the Beis Din Tzedek of Crown Heights hosted a welcome event for a group of visiting rabbonim who traveled to the Rebbe’s shchunah. The gathering took place at the Eshel Hotel and brought together rabbinic leaders from across the world for an afternoon of Torah, connection, and mutual respect.
The program opened with a buffet-style lunch, offering a comfortable setting for the rabbonim to greet one another, reconnect, and engage in conversation. The tone was warm and collegial, with a clear sense of shared purpose.
After the meal, Harav Avrohom Osdoba and Harav Yosef Yeshaya Braun delivered divrei Torah and welcomed the guests on behalf of the Crown Heights Badatz. Both Rabbonim spoke about the zechus and achrayus of rabbanus, and the need for rabbinic unity in confronting the challenges facing today’s kehilos.
Rabbi Shmuel Zaientz then presented a halachic overview of ovary transplantation — a topic currently at the forefront of discussion in Chareidi rabbinic circles. His remarks addressed complex questions of maternity, identity, and zera Yisroel, demonstrating both halachic depth and sensitivity to emerging medical realities.
To conclude the program, Rabbi Meir New of the Vaad Hakohol made a siyum on Maseches Sotah, marking the occasion with a l’chaim shared by those in attendance.
The event was a thoughtful and well-organized opportunity for rabbonim to come together in the Rebbe’s daled amos — reinforcing their connection to one another, to their mission, and to the communities they serve.
