In response to Israel’s preemptive strikes on Iran’s nuclear and military capabilities, Agudas Chassidei Chabad issued a public letter addressing the current situation and calling for practical steps in accordance with the Rebbe’s directives.

The letter begins, “When the Jewish community, specifically in Eretz Yisroel, and in the world in general, find themselves in a unique situation, we take this opportunity to recall the words of the Rebbe in his well-known talk on Lag B’Omer, 5727:

‘Hashem protects them and sends them His blessings and His salvation in an increased measure so that they will emerge—and they will emerge—from the current situation successfully.’”

It continues, “As the Rebbe often reiterated the Divine promise regarding Eretz Yisroel: ‘The eyes of the L-rd your G-d are always’ — תמיד עיני ה’ א-לקיך בה מראשית השנה ועד אחרית שנה — ‘upon it, from the beginning of the year to the end of the year,’ and as we have merited to witness many miracles over the past year.”

“In gratitude to Hashem, we must strengthen our faith and trust that הנה לא ינום ולא יישן שומר ישראל — ‘He who watches over Israel neither slumbers nor sleeps,’ and do so with joy,” the letter states.

The letter then quotes the Rebbe’s words delivered on Friday, Parshas Bo, 5751, on the eve of the Gulf War:

“And the ruling of our holy Torah, Torah Ohr and Torah Emes: and on these Shabbosos which are truly Shabbosos, and in every halacha — clearly stated: joy, both hidden and revealed.”

It continues, “At the same time, the Rebbe emphasized in that same talk that we all have a special duty and merit to increase in Torah study, mitzvah observance, and in the spirit of ואהבת לרעך כמוך — ‘Love your fellow as yourself’ — influencing friends and family as well.”

Agudas Chassidei Chabad writes, “Therefore, we hereby suggest and call upon everyone to strengthen and increase their Torah learning and mitzvah observance, for the merit of our fellow Jews in Eretz Yisroel and everywhere.”

They call for an “Increase in saying Tehillim, especially chapters 20, 22, 69, 124, 150, together with giving Tzedaka.” They urge to “Be more diligent in studying the daily Chitas and Rambam at their designated times, and add a special session of Torah study, each according to their ability.” They continue, “Strengthen the Rebbe’s holy Mivtzoim,” and emphasize, “Add and strengthen especially in the campaign of Ahavas Yisroel — particularly by encouraging the above among friends and relatives, each one according to their ability.”

The letter concludes with the Rebbe’s words:

ואזי יקויים . . ‘וישבתם לבטח בארצכם . . ונתתי שלום בארץ . . והייתי לכם לא-לקים . . ואתם תהיו לי לעם’ . . ובקרוב ממש יקויים . . ‘ואולך אתכם קוממיות’ . . הקב”ה יוליך כל אחד מישראל וכל ישראל בקומה זקופה, בקרוב ממש, בגאולה האמיתית, השלימה והמלאה על ידי משיח צדקנו

“Then will be fulfilled… ‘And you shall dwell securely in your land… and I will grant peace in the land… and I will be your G-d… and you will be My people’… And very soon will be fulfilled… ‘And I will lead you upright’… May G-d lead every Jew — and all of Israel — upright and proud, very soon, with the complete and true redemption through our righteous Moshiach.”

Signed,
The Vaad of Agudas Chassidei Chabad

We appreciate your feedback. If you have any additional information to contribute to this article, it will be added below.

  1. It may be appropriate to add the Rebbe’s words said in conjuction to the above quotes that Eretz Yisroel is the safest place in the world.

The words were then repeatedly emphasized by the Rebbe with also the added emphasis about having confidence in it, therefore also today, I think we don’t have to bashful about it, and we should integrate into ourselves and aldo spread it to others that Erets Yisroel is the safest place in the world.

    Moshiach now.

  2. its amazing to see chasidim coming out in full strength.

may the koach of chasidim – no matter how you percieve the nekuda of hiskashrus – be misgaber, and may we all achieve the ratzon of the meshaleach.
