Hundreds of students in the Nigri International Jewish Online School received their very own Menorah kit in the mail, empowering them to spread the light of Chanukah to their surroundings.
Bethany Conner, a student in the Nigri International Jewish Online School was so excited to receive a Menorah Kit in the mail, packed with everything a family would need to celebrate Chanukah. Empowered by the message attached to spread the light of Chanukah to her community in Florida, her mother posted on Facebook seeking a connection with another Jewish family who did not yet have a Menorah.
The post reached Kimberly Gershowitz, who calls herself “the lone Jew of North Florida”. She was so touched by Bethany’s efforts to spread light and contacted her mom, Jaime. A meet and greet was set up and Bethany was able to give her a Menorah kit, sparking the start of a beautiful, new friendship.
For the ninth year, the Nigri International Jewish Online School mailed out Menorah Kits to every family enrolled. Each student receiving the kit then has the opportunity to give it to another Jew, enabling them to partake in the Chanukah experience.
This year, the Nigri International Jewish Online School mailed out over 450 Menorah kits to students worldwide and are seeing beautiful stories unfold of connections like Bethany’s made through this
