Chaburas Maayan Menachem, a thriving nightly Chabura in the heart of Yerushalayim’s Beis Yisroel neighborhood, recently held a moving “Night with the Rebbe” at the Ohel.
Situated near Yeshivas Mir Yerushalayim, Maayan Menachem draws dozens of bochurim each night—bochurim from across Yerushalayim who are not learning in a Lubavitch yeshiva but who are eager to drink from the wellsprings of Chassidus in a serious manner.
The Chabura is led by Rabbi Betzalel Kleinman, originally from Boro Park and now a mashpia at the Mayanot Institutions for Jewish Studies. Along with the nightly learning, the Chabura offers a steady flow of shiurim and farbrengens. Over the past three years, more than one hundred bochurim have integrated the study of Chassidus into their lives through Maayan Menachem’s efforts.
This week, the Chabura, together with many of its alumni, gathered at the Ohel for a powerful evening of connection. Bochurim and yungeleit traveled in from Boro Park, Monsey, Lakewood, and Williamsburg to take part. The evening began with a seder limud—studying a sicha and a maamar of the Rebbe—followed by writing a pa”n and davening at the Ohel. Maariv was then held, leading into an inspiring farbrengen that carried on until the early hours of the morning.
