The mayor of Kharkov, Igor Terechov visited the Kharkov Synagogue to meet shliach Rabbi Moshe Moskovitz and thank him for the help that the Jewish community is giving to the residents of Kharkov.

Rabbi Moskovitz recently returned to his community that had been living under attack since the war began three months ago.

The mayor was very impressed with the humanitarian aid operation that was taking place in the shul, and saw the food packages that were ready to be sent out for Shavuos. He spoke to the cooks, workers and volunteers who have been working day and night to help save lives. He expressed how happy he was to meet Rabbi Moskovitz again.

The community was very touched that the mayor found the time in his busy schedule to visit the shul.

This past Chanukah, the mayor lit the menorah on Pushkinskaya St. and also came to congratulate the Moskovitz family at their daughter’s wedding in Kharkov four months ago.
