After more than three harrowing months of battling for his life, Shmulik Amar, who experienced a miraculous recovery, is, Boruch Hashem, returning home.
In mid-Shvat, a horrific fire in an apartment of bochurim left seven bochurim injured, three critically. Boruch Hashem, they were all released except for Shmuel Amar, who was unconscious with severe burns on 60% of his body. For two months, he remained unconscious in the ICU, having undergone numerous surgeries to save his life. One month ago, he was taken off the ventilator and began his road to recovery.
Throughout the ordeal, family, friends, and the entire Anash community stormed the heavens with davening and mitzvos for his complete recovery. With thanks to Hashem, he is now being discharged from the hospital to continue to heal at home.
To mark this extraordinary miracle, on Motzei Shabbos, friends, family, and fellow chassidim celebrated a special Seudas Hodaa in 770 in a heartfelt evening of thanks and Chassidishe celebration.
During the event, Shmuel Amar made a siyum on Hilchos Yibum v’Chalitza and began Hilchos Sotah in the Rambam. Among those who spoke were Rabbi Zalman Teitelbaum, shliach at Einstein College, who shared heartfelt words of inspiration, and Rabbi Zohar Amar, Shmuel’s father, who emotionally recited Mizmor L’Sodah and expressed deep gratitude for the Rebbe’s brachos. He described the overwhelming support from across the world, saying it was the tefillos and acts of chesed that carried them through. The doctor who was instrumental in the miracle also joined the celebration and was warmly acknowledged, and members of Hatzalah were thanked for their dedication and lifesaving efforts.
