Jewish Argentine Governor Wrapped Tefillin at Regional Kinus
Shluchim from across Argentina gathered in distant Rosario in Central Argentina for a uplifting Kinus, filled with shiurim, farbrengens, and discussions. A highlight was a visit to the Jewish governor, who wrapped tefillin and expressed deep interest in their impact across the region.
Last week, shluchim of the Rebbe from across Argentina gathered in the city of Rosario in Central Argentina for an especially uplifting Kinus. Shluchim came from communities throughout the vast country, with many traveling hundreds of kilometers from the capital, Buenos Aires.
The Kinus was filled with a full program of shiurim, sessions, meals, and farbrengens.
Throughout the Kinus, the shluchim spent time davening and learning together, exchanging experiences from their respective communities, strengthening one another, and taking part in thoughtful discussions addressing the unique challenges and opportunities of shlichus across Argentina, particularly in the current times.
A special guest at the Kinus was Rabbi Mendy Kotlarsky of Merkos 302, who joined from New York and addressed the participants, sharing a perspective on the global impact of shlichus and the unique role of each shliach. The group also posed for a group photo in the center of the beautiful city of Rosario.
A highlight of the Kinus was a special visit to the office of the Jewish governor of Santa Fe province, Mr. Pablo Javkin.
Rabbi Shlomo Tawil, the regional shliach and rov, presented the governor with an extensive overview of the many provinces represented by the participating shluchim as the group engaged in a meaningful discussion with the governor, who showed strong interest in the impact of the shluchim across the region.
Head shliach Rabbi Tzvi Grunblatt also addressed the governor and spoke about the activities of the shluchim throughout the province. At one point, Rabbi Grunblatt asked the governor if he would like to put on tefillin. The governor agreed, rolling up his sleeves and donning tefillin together with the shluchim, in a powerful moment of kiddush Hashem.
The governor was presented with a Tehillas Hashem siddur and a Spanish translation of the Rebbe’s letters. The governor, visibly moved, expressed his appreciation and presented each of the shluchim with a special medal.
As the Kinus came to a close, the shluchim returned to their respective communities across Argentina, leaving inspired and strengthened to continue their shlichus with renewed energy and resolve.
