Hospital Hit a Day After Evacuation, ‘Tehran Will Pay’

In the early hours of the morning, Iran launched a massive ballistic missile attack on Israel, firing between 20 and 30 missiles, with cities including Tel Aviv, Ramat Gan, Holon, and Be’er Sheva reporting direct hits, including a strike on Soroka Hospital that caused extensive damage and triggered an evacuation due to a suspected hazardous material leak, though despite the widespread destruction, early reports suggest a remarkably low number of serious injuries.

Early this morning, Iran launched a barrage of 20 to 30 ballistic missiles at Israel, marking the largest such attack in the past 24 hours. Sirens were heard across central, northern, and southern parts of the country, including Jerusalem, as Israeli air defenses engaged the incoming threats.

The IDF confirmed multiple impact sites across Israel, including Tel Aviv and Be’er Sheva. One of the missiles, they reported, hit “the largest hospital in southern Israel.” Four key areas were struck: Be’er Sheva, Ramat Gan, and two locations in central Israel.

A Shul in Cholon was hit by an Iranian rocket among many other building in the area that are severely damaged.

In Ramat Gan, a missile landed on a city street, causing severe damage to homes, shops, and an apartment building. Another missile hit the Israeli stock exchange building in Ramat Gan, located east of Tel Aviv. In Tel Aviv itself, several high-rise buildings were damaged. South of the city, Cholon sustained a direct hit that caused widespread destruction. Two individuals were seriously injured there and were rescued from the rubble.

Further strikes were reported in Bat Yam, Petach Tikva, and additional areas in Be’er Sheva. Even where missiles were intercepted, the debris caused danger. One large fragment from an intercepted missile landed near the entrance to Ariel in Samaria.

One of the largest impacts occurred at Soroka Hospital in Be’er Sheva. The hospital, which serves as the main medical center in the south and houses over 1,000 beds, was directly hit. Part of the roof collapsed, and parts of the building were reported to be on fire. A hospital spokeswoman said the situation involved “extensive” damage and ongoing injury assessments. The public was asked not to approach the facility. A suspected hazardous material leak was later reported on one of the floors, prompting an evacuation of parts of the hospital.

A doctor at Soroka Hospital shared that “just yesterday we evacuated the old surgical building that took a direct hit today,” calling it “a great miracle” that no one was inside at the time. A volunteer at the hospital described the moment of impact, saying, “We thought it was right inside the ward. Everything fell apart—glass, ceilings—everything fell. We evacuated everyone in a masterful manner, and fortunately not a single patient was hurt. We had a great miracle from heaven.”

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated, “Iran’s terrorist tyrants launched missiles at Soroka Hospital in Beersheba and at a civilian population in the center of the country. We will exact the full price from the tyrants in Tehran.”

Defense Minister Israel Katz said, “The cowardly Iranian dictator sits deep in his fortified bunker and fires precision-guided missiles at hospitals and residential buildings in Israel.” He called Iran’s leadership “terrorist tyrants,” adding, “Iran’s terrorist tyrants launched missiles at Soroka Hospital in Beersheba and at a civilian population in the center of the country. We will exact the full price from the tyrants in Tehran.” He continued, “The Prime Minister and I have instructed the IDF to increase the intensity of strikes against strategic targets in Iran and government sites in Tehran to remove threats to Israel and destabilize the ayatollahs’ regime.”

Danny Danon responded to the hospital strike by calling it “a grave violation of international law.” He stated that Iran was “launching missiles at Israeli cities with the clear intent to target civilian population centers” and urged the UN to take immediate action. Danon added, “We pray for the safety of the patients and the medical staff at Soroka Hospital,” and warned that the Iranian regime would face “a heavy price for its unrestrained aggression.”

Minister of National Security Itamar Ben-Gvir also issued a forceful statement, calling the attackers “Nazis who launch missiles at hospitals, at the elderly and at children.” He claimed that if Iran had nuclear weapons, “they would fire them without a second thought,” and described the Israeli response as “the most just campaign that Israel has ever embarked on.”

Emergency teams responded rapidly. MDA confirmed that their teams were “en route to reported sites” shortly after the attacks began. The Home Front Command later announced that some areas could safely exit protected shelters, though they urged the public to “continue to obey instructions” as rescue and response operations continued.

MDA paramedic Yossi Shilo said emergency crews “rushed MICUs, ambulances, and medicycles to a heavily damaged building,” where they treated a woman in her sixties injured by blast and shrapnel and evacuated her in serious but stable condition. He added that teams were still sweeping the area for additional casualties.

The MDA is reporting at least 30 injuries from the recent ballistic missile attack by Iran, including 24 light, 2 moderate, and 1 serious injury, all from impacts in and around Tel-Aviv within Central Israel.. Officials have updated the toll to include 30 injuries—24 light, 2 moderate, and 1 serious—all resulting from impacts in and around Tel Aviv, with full assessments still ongoing.
