A crowd of 300 people gathered at Lubavitch Yeshiva Monday night for an event celebrating a Siyum on Mesechta Yuma, studied by many shiurim throughout Crown Heights.

A crowd of 300 people gathered at Lubavitch Yeshiva Monday night for an event celebrating a Siyum on Mesechta Yuma, studied by many shiurim throughout Crown Heights.
Due to its proximity to the Nine Days in which the Rebbe requests large public Siyumim, a collective Siyum was held for all the shiurim and individuals who completed the mesechta, and to strengthen the many Shiurim throughout the community.
The event recognized the hundreds of individuals who learn Gemara daily, and especially the Magidei Shiurim who spend several hours a day preparing to give these classes. The Siyum honored Rabbis Alex Heppenheimer, Shlomo Holtzberg, Hirshel Lustig, Fishel Oster, Shmuel Rosenstein, Zalman Shanowitz and Shea Werner.
It will also pay tribute to the many private Chavrusos and Shiurim which take place daily around Crown Heights.
Rabbi Avrohom Yehoshua Kenig of Tzeirei Hadaf, an organization that helps facilitate the daily learning, and co-sponsor of the event, presented new Gemaras on Mesichta Sukah to all those who are learning the daily daf.
Participants enjoyed a lavish parve meal catered by Mayer Cohen caterers along with live entertainment by the world-renowned Chazan Aryeh Leib Hurwitz and the Shira Choir.
The event was organized by Rabbi Lazer Avtzon of the Association of Crown Heights Shuls along with Rabbi Avraham Rotban, director of Irgun Torah.
