Program Announced for 2nd Chassidus-AI Conference

The Chassidus and AI Conference returns this Sunday, 29 Sivan (June 14). The free, fully virtual gathering will bring together Shluchim, developers, futurists, and chassidim from around the world to explore what AI means for learning and teaching pnimiyus haTorah, and to demonstrate the powerful tools already in use today.

With the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence, a vital question is being asked across the community: How can we harness this unprecedented technology for hafotzas hamaayanos?

Following the massive success of last year’s inaugural event, the Chassidus and AI Conference returns this Sunday, 29 Sivan (June 14). The free, fully virtual gathering will bring together Shluchim, developers, futurists, and chassidim from around the world to explore what AI means for learning and teaching pnimiyus haTorah, and to demonstrate the powerful tools already in use today.

Co-hosted by Rabbi Zalman Abraham of JLI and Rabbi Mendy Shishler of “AI for Shlichus” (Merkos 302), the conference moves beyond abstract theory. Presenters will showcase real, working applications that address the questions Anash are currently discussing: Can a machine actually help me internalize a maamar? How do we adapt deep concepts for a child or a newcomer? And how do we navigate the subtle dangers of AI shaping our own thinking?

The program will be opened by acclaimed Johannesburg rov and mashpia Rabbi Levi Wineberg. Carrying on the legacy of his father, who pioneered bringing Chassidus to the radio, Rabbi Wineberg is a trailblazer in his own right, having pioneered live simultaneous translations of the Rebbe’s farbrengens, translated Lessons in Tanya, and helped found Sichos in English.

Several sessions will focus on where this technology is heading and its broader implications:

  • Rabbi Asher Crispe, a technology futurist working on AGI with a French tech firm, will map out the horizon of AI and what it means for how Chassidus will be studied and internalized in the coming years.
  • Golan Ben-Oni, CIO of IDT Corp and UC Berkeley adjunct professor, will address the essential role of humans in an increasingly AI-driven future.
  • Dr. Joel Finkelstein, drawing on his research at Rutgers University, will tackle the psychological risks of AI, particularly the danger of “sycophancy,” when machines become echo chambers that subtly distort human thought.

Presenters quietly building the backend of this revolution will demonstrate how AI can map and unlock the depths of Torah:

  • Rabbi Yossi Yaffe, Shliach to Connecticut, will demonstrate how ingesting Chassidus into AI models unlocks a vast network of knowledge, allowing learners to trace the intellectual development of a single idea across generations.
  • Mendy Elishevitz will show how AI can map the full scope of the Rebbe’s Torah on any given parsha, Yom Tov, or topic, giving learners a comprehensive landscape at a glance.
  • Rabbi Eliezer Shemtov will explore the critical mental-health dimensions of Chassidus, demonstrating how AI can harness Tanya and maamarim to directly address personal struggles like anxiety and depression.
  • Crown Heights businessman Shimon Rosenberg will share how he uses AI to integrate his personal learning, letting Torah guide and shape his tech engineering rather than the other way around.

Innovators will share practical tools built to bring Chassidus to every Jew in a tailored, resonant way:

  • Rabbis Levi Raskin and Chanoch Chaskind of Maor will share how they use AI to translate the Rebbe’s Torah for children and broader audiences, uncovering the Rebbe’s unique method of communicating with youth.
  • Rayi Stern, who oversees AI at Merkos 302, will present his work on a retrieval system that doesn’t just offer accurate answers, but delivers them with genuine Chassidishe insight and perspective.
  • Moishy Goldstein will offer a masterclass on multimedia creation, showing Shluchim and creators how to achieve studio-level visual consistency to bring Chassidic concepts to life on screen.
  • Berel Marosow will discuss his work developing dozens of apps designed to put Chassidus at a user’s fingertips.
  • Meyer Schmukler will share his passion for developing revolutionary apps and using AI to generate music that conveys deep Chassidic concepts to the wider world.

Event Details: The conference takes place online this Sunday, 29 Sivan, 5786 (June 14, 2026), beginning at 1:00 PM EDT.

While participation is completely free, spaces are limited, and preference will be given to those actively involved in advancing the field. Registered participants will receive access to recordings following the event.
