Free Kaporos Returns to Crown Heights for Second Year
After introducing free Kaporos last year to ease the financial burden on families, NCFJE is bringing the initiative back for a second year, offering Kaporos free of charge to the Crown Heights community ahead of Yom Kippur.
For fifty years, the National Committee for the Furtherance of Jewish Education has been organizing Kaporos for the Crown Heights community.
Last year, NCFJE introduced a new initiative offering Kaporos free of charge in the days before Yom Kippur, helping ease the many expenses faced by families during Tishrei. The new system proved smooth and efficient from beginning to end and received positive feedback from the community, leading to its return this year.
The first session will take place Wednesday, September 16, from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Beis Rivkah parking lot on Montgomery Street.
A second session will be held on Motzei Shabbos, September 19, from 9:00 PM until 5:00 AM.
The arrangement is designed to give every member of the community the opportunity to fulfill the cherished minhag in an efficient, clean and respectful manner.
Those wishing to help subsidize the free Kaporos for the Crown Heights community can donate at NCFJE.org/kaporos.
