One Bochur Joined Halikut; Then His Father Started Learning Too

One Bochur began calling home to review a Sicha. Before long, his father was opening a Likkutei Sichos too, and his younger siblings were paying closer attention than anyone realized. The Vaad Hatmimim set out to strengthen Bochurim, but what happens next reaches an entire family.

It started with a Bochur calling home to review a Sicha.

He was participating in Halikut, the Vaad Hatmimim’s annual program to master an entire chelek of Likkutei Sichos, and wanted to discuss what he was learning with his father.

His father began learning the Sichos too, just to join the conversation. Soon, a program created for one Bochur had reached a whole home.

Another family described their son coming home for an off-Shabbos. His younger siblings watch him learn, feel his excitement and see what his connection to the Rebbe means to him.

“This is absolutely changing lives and creating the next generation of Bochurim in Lubavitch,” his parents shared.

This is the ripple effect of the Vaad’s work.

Halikut now reaches more than 1,000 Bochurim in over 25 Yeshivos. Through Hanachos, nearly 1,000 Bochurim devoted more than 200,000 minutes to watching the Rebbe’s Farbrengens and explaining what they heard in their own words.

The Vaad organizes programs and Farbrengens around Yud Shevat, Yud Aleph Nissan and Gimmel Tammuz, supports Talmidei Hashluchim and provides assistance to Bochurim who need it.

The programs differ, but the goal is the same: to give Bochurim the tools, structure and encouragement to grow in their learning, Chassidishkeit and Hiskashrus.

A Bochur’s growth does not stop at the doors of the zal. It enters the phone call home, changes the atmosphere when he returns for Shabbos and influences younger siblings who are watching him. One day, it will help shape the home he builds himself.

Behind every Bochur is a family. When the Vaad strengthens a Bochur, the impact reaches his family today and the family he will one day raise.

Supporting the Vaad is not only about funding another program, booklet or event. It is about investing in the people who will shape the future of Lubavitch.

Help the Vaad stand behind every Bochur and keep that ripple effect growing.
