Former Student Publishes Shiurim of Reb Yisroel Friedman

Rabbi Yoel Wolf, a former student of beloved Oholei Torah Rosh Yeshiva Reb Yisroel Friedman, published a kuntres with his notes from the shiurim on Meseches Kiddushin he heard in Yeshiva.

“Reb Yisroel had a unique approach in learning with his broad knowledge, depth, wit and tremendous attention to detail. He exemplified what it means to learn like a Chossid. When he gave over a piece of Gemara or the words of a Rishon, you were able to sense his awe and respect for their every word,” Rabbi Wolf said.

Though he didn’t leave over writings of his Chiddushim (as far as we know), Reb Yisroel left thousands of students that he taught and hold dear all that they learned from him.

The Rebbe wanted the Shiurim of several prominent Roshei Yeshiva to be published after their lifetime. Such as Harav Yehudah Eber hy”d, Harav Mordechai Mentlik a”h, and Harav Aizik Schwei a”h. It is therefore worthy for Reb Yisroel’s Shiurim to be published. This Kuntres will serve both as a zechus in his memory and will surely enhance the learning in Yeshivos and to all who learn Kiddushin.

“My hope is that this will encourage others who have notes to do the same,” Rabbi Wolf said. “I will be happy to collaborate with anyone if they reach out as a result of this.”
