A five-year-old boy from a Chabad family in Shikun Chabad in Lod passed away on Sunday, Chof-Vov Av, after he was found unconscious in a car.

The boy was found without a pulse or breathing and suffering from signs of severe heatstroke. Emergency responders immediately began advanced resuscitation efforts and rushed him to Assaf Harofeh Hospital in critical condition, while continuing efforts to save his life.

Despite the prolonged resuscitation efforts, doctors at the hospital were later forced to pronounce his passing.

Senior MDA EMT Chaim Shavit and Chabad MDA EMT Yosef Yitzchak Sagiv said that when they arrived, the boy was unconscious, without a pulse and not breathing.

“We began advanced resuscitation efforts that included chest compressions and ventilation, and evacuated him in a mobile intensive care unit while we were fighting for his life,” they said.

United Hatzalah paramedic Netanel Eitan and EMTs Aryeh Mendelson and Itzik Mishkovsky said they provided initial medical treatment before the boy was transported to the hospital in critical condition.

With the summer heat continuing, Hatzalah reminds parents and drivers to check their vehicles carefully before walking away. Temperatures inside a closed car can rise dangerously quickly, and children should never be left unattended, even for a moment. Passersby are also encouraged to remain alert and check parked cars for children.
