Hundreds of bochurim and members of the Jerusalem Anash community gathered this past Sunday for a major Kinus Torah held in the main hall of Yeshivas Toras Emes in honor of Yom Tov of Shavuos, following the hora’ah of the Rebbe to arrange Kinusei Torah during the days of Tashlumin.

The packed gathering featured prominent rabbonim, roshei yeshiva, mashpi’im, and guest speakers who delivered wide-ranging pilpulim and Torah discussions on topics throughout Nigleh and Chassidus.

The Kinus opened with a sicha of the Rebbe presented by talmid hayeshiva Aharon Hakohen Kaplon, who discussed the distinction between Yom Tov and Shavuos regarding the concept of “lachem,” where “l’kulei alma ba’inan nami lachem.”

He was followed by talmid hayeshiva Shneur Muzikant, who delivered a pilpul on the sugya of yiush shelo mida’as.

A highlight of the evening was the participation of the Dzikkov Rebbe, who was warmly welcomed by the crowd and delivered a sharp and in-depth pilpul examining whether two short actions can combine into one extended act. Drawing proofs from across Shas, he engaged in lively discussion with the bochurim and rabbonim of the yeshiva.

Rabbi Chaim Weiss, rov of Beitar Illit, spoke for nearly an hour on the question of whether the bracha of Shehecheyanu can still be recited during the days of Tashlumin. He concluded with heartfelt divrei hisorerus to the bochurim on the tremendous importance and value of Torah learning, especially during these special days.

The crowd listened attentively as Rabbi Meir Sirota elaborated at length on the halachos of cooking on Shabbos, carefully explaining the precise wording of the Alter Rebbe in Shulchan Aruch Harav and applying it to practical cases of melachos prohibited on Shabbos.

The concluding address was delivered by mashpia of the yeshiva, Rabbi Shmuel Pressman, who explored the Chazal describing Matan Torah as a time when “they saw the sounds and heard the sights,” based on the explanations of the Rabbeim.

Prior to the Kinus Torah, participants heard a fascinating shiur on kashrus from Rabbi Mordechai Sofer, who served for nearly three decades as a senior member of the kashrus system of Harav Moshe Yehuda Leib Landau a”h.

Among those participating in the gathering were rosh yeshiva Rabbi Avraham Yoel Lapidus; mashpia roshi Rabbi Yosef Yitzchak Offen; Rabbi Naftali Roth, rov of the Chabad community in Mattersdorf; Rabbi Efraim Bogard, dayan in Chaifa and rov in Ramot; and Rabbi Yosef Tzvi Tzirkus, rov of the Chabad community in the Mekor Baruch neighborhood and a member of the yeshiva’s hanhala.

The event was emceed by Rabbi Baruch Chadad, one of the Rebbe’s shluchim in Yerushalayim.

Dozens of local residents, together with many bochurim from yeshivos throughout the area, participated in the uplifting and inspiring gathering.
