Ckids Director Takes On Merkos Chinuch Office

Rabbi Zalman Loewenthal, who directs Chabad Children’s Network CKids and the JewQ International Championship, has now been appointed Associate Director of the Merkos Chinuch Office, alongside longtime director, Rabbi Nochem Kaplan.

The Chinuch Office of Merkos L’Inyonei Chinuch has announced the appointment of Rabbi Zalman Loewenthal as its new Associate Director.

Rabbi Loewenthal for the last decade as the Director of the Chabad Children’s Network (CKids), an initiative of Merkos 302. Through CKids, he has been instrumental in developing innovative programs such as the JewQ International Championship and the development of Hebrew School and after-school programs that have engaged and inspired thousands of children in Chabad Houses and schools across the globe. Rabbi Lowenthal will continue directing Ckids alongside his work at the Chinuch Office.

“It is an honor and z’chus to work in the Rebbe’s mosad, Merkos L’Inyonei Chinuch, under the tutelage of Rabbi Kaplan,” Rabbi Lowenthal shared with Anash.org. “With Hashem’s help, we will continue this unique work and endeavor to strengthen the phenomenal schools that exist, ensuring their continued growth and impact.”

For over 25 years, the Chinuch Office has been at the forefront of Chabad education, under the leadership of Rabbi Nochem Kaplan, who will continue serving as Director. The office provides guidance and support to Chabad mosdos worldwide.  

As he steps into this new role, Rabbi Loewenthal expressed his commitment to continuing the important work of Rabbi Kaplan and ensuring that Chabad schools continue to thrive.
