Chaim Meir (Henry) Israel, a father, grandfather and great grandfather, formerly of Worcester and Boston, Massachusetts, and more recently of Yerushalayim, passed away on Tuesday, 29 Kislev.

Chaim Meir (Henry) Israel, a father, grandfather and great grandfather, formerly of Worcester and Boston, Massachusetts, and more recently of Yerushalayim, passed away on Tuesday, 29 Kislev, 5781 in Eretz Yisroel.

He was 83.

Mr. Israel had been a long time resident of Bnei Brak and Jerusalem. He had also been a previous resident of Worcester and Boston, Massachusetts.

A brilliant man, he was especially known for his tremendous contribution to the scientific world, and sense of humor.

He is survived by his wife, Ilana Israel of Yerushalayim, his brothers (Yitzchak and Jonas) and children; Nechama Eilfort (Carlsbad, CA), Rivka Israel (Ramat Gan), Avromie Israel (Houston, TX), Levi Israel (Crown Heights), Chava Even Israel (Har Choma), Moshe Israel (NY), Avigail Gershovitz (Crown Heights), and Devorah Leah Dabul (Petach Tikvah), and was predeceased by his daughter, Rina Aivas.

Levaya will take place now on Har HaZeitim. Each family will be sitting shiva in their own homes. Zoom shiva available.
