A delegation of Chabad rabbonim, shluchim and representatives in Yerushalayim visited Mayor Moshe Lion on Sunday afternoon as he sits shiva following the passing of his father, Shalom Lion.

Mayor Lion warmly received the delegation and thanked the rabbonim and shluchim for coming to be menachem avel.

During the visit, Rabbi Naftali HaKohen Roth, chairman of Tzach in Yerushalayim, shliach of the Rebbe and rov of the Chabad community in Mattersdorf, and Rabbi Yaakov Halperin, shliach of the Rebbe and Chabad representative on the Yerushalayim City Council, addressed those gathered.

The delegation included Rabbi Yosef Yitzchok Havlin, head of Heichal Menachem and rov of the Chabad community in Ramat Shlomo; Rabbi Shaul Sillam, rov of the Chabad community in Gilo; Rabbi Yitzchok Meir Segal, rov of the Chabad community in Rechavia; and Rabbi Yosef Yitzchok Slonim, rov of central Yerushalayim.

Shluchim Rabbi Baruch Haddad, Rabbi Tzvi Ruderman and Rabbi Daniel Kalev took part, together with Rabbi Yossi Lukatzky, chief of staff to Rabbi Halperin, and Rabbi Noam Roth, director of Tzach in Yerushalayim, who coordinated the visit.

Before departing, the delegation wished the mayor a good and blessed year, with health and simchos, and expressed the hope that we will soon merit the complete Geulah and Techiyas Hameisim.
