Bowling Alley Becomes a Chassidishe Simchas Beis Hashoeva

A bowling alley in Oregon looked a little different this Sukkos.
For an afternoon, the entire facility was rented out and transformed into a lively Simchas Beis Hashoeva for Shluchim and their families, bringing together families from communities across the region for an afternoon of achdus, family fun, and Chassidishe Yom Tov spirit.
The afternoon began with a full lunch, followed by bowling, laser tag, and arcade games for the children and families. The facility was divided into designated areas and rotations, allowing boys, girls, and families to enjoy the activities throughout the afternoon.
But the highlight of the gathering was not on the bowling lanes.
A special children’s rally brought everyone together for a spirited Sukkos program. The children recited the 12 Pesukim, followed by videos of the Rebbe playing on the large screen. The rally then turned into a true Simchas Beis Hashoeva, with the men joining together in lively dancing and singing, bringing the energy of a Chassidishe Sukkos celebration into the middle of the bowling alley.
The gathering also included a large sukkah where families could eat and spend time together, adding to the atmosphere of a genuine Simchas Beis Hashoeva despite the unconventional venue.
For many of the families, the afternoon was an opportunity to reconnect with fellow Shluchim, while giving the children a chance to simply enjoy Sukkos together. Bowling, laser tag, arcade games, food, dancing, and the rally all came together in one setting.
What made the event particularly memorable was the combination of the ordinary and the extraordinary: a bowling alley filled with games and activity, transformed for an afternoon into a place of Torah, Chassidishkeit, achdus, and the simchah of Sukkos.
The gathering was arranged by Chabad of Oregon, giving Shluchim and their families from across the region an opportunity to come together and celebrate Sukkos with genuine joy and achdus.
It was a fitting expression of Simchas Beis Hashoeva — bringing Shluchim and their families together to celebrate the Yom Tov with genuine joy.
