The birthday of Harav Levi Yitzchok Schneerson, father of the Rebbe, was celebrated yesterday in Crown Heights with a Kinus Torah and farbrengen led by shluchim and mashpi’im.

The first shiur was given by Rabbi Berel Levine, Chief Librarian of the Chabad Library, who spoke about halachos related to playing with nuts on Pesach.

Rabbi Nachman Schapiro, mashpia in Oholei Torah, spoke on the theme of the yomtov of Pesach and its connection to speech.

The final shiur was given by Rabbi Dovid Dubov, on an explanation from the Rebbe’s father regarding Mordechai and Esther and their connection to Pesach.

The Kinus was followed by a farbrengen marking 18 Nissan, the birthday of Harav Levi Yitzchok Schneerson, the Rebbe’s father, and the day of the Rebbe’s Bris.
