An event marking the one-year yahrzeit of Rabbi Mordechai Gurary, beloved rov of Congregation Chevra Shas, took place Tuesday evening in Lubavitch Yeshiva Hall, 570 Crown Street.

An event marking the one-year yahrzeit of Rabbi Mordechai Gurary a”h, beloved rov of Congregation Chevra Shas took place Tuesday evening, in Lubavitch Yeshiva Hall, 570 Crown Street.
The gathering was addressed by Rabbi Shmuel Heber, renowned author and head of the Empire Shitbel morning Kollel, Rabbi Kalman Weinfeld, rov of Beis Eliezer Yitzchak. The MC was Rabbi Gadi Blizinsky.
Reb Mottel was the rov of the Chevra Shas shul, one where many of the rabbonim and roshei yeshiva in Crown Heights davened. People many years his senior were the most devoted attendees of his shiurim.
He was a very accomplished speaker who could keep the crowd riveted with his words of derush, intertwined with much humor and wit. Always full of life, any visitor to his shul was welcomed with a warm Shalom Aleichem.
