The gabboyim of the main shul at 770 have issued guidelines for Rosh Hashana, including how the tefillos  will be run, outdoor minyonim, Tashlich and the Motzei Yom Tov Farbrengen.

As reported on Anash.org, based on doctors’ recommendations, 770 will remain open for Rosh Hashana, with health regulation and extra minyonim. On Thursday, the gabboyim released the full set of Shul rules.

The guidelines are as follows:

  1. Anyone in a risk group (elderly, underlying conditions, etc.) or even if he might be in a risk group, should not, and must not, come to 770 during Yom Tov
  2. Whoever is able to daven elsewhere, should do so, to limit the number of people in shul and allow social distancing.
  3. The Shul will be running according to the legal limit of 30% occupancy, and the seating arrangements will therefore be different than usual; A map with the exact location of each person’s seat will be hung at the entrance to 770 before Yom Tov.
  4. Everyone entering the building of 770 must wear a mask at all times. No exceptions!
  5. Outdoor Minyan: A large area will be set aside outside 770 for davening, krias hatorah, tkias shofar, etc. The location will be on the service lane outside 770, (with an eruv, to allow carrying). The minyan will take place at the same time as the indoor minyan.
  6. R’ Sholom Tenenbaum, the Ba’al Tokea of the main minyan, will be bringing the Rebbe’s shofar outside 770 on the second day of Rosh Hashana, following the main minyan, and will be blowing 30 tekios there. This will take place at approximately 2:00 PM.
  7. Tashlich (this year tashlich takes place on the second day of Rosh Hashana): Tashlich will take place following the main minyan for Mincha.
The line will be in a ‘conveyor belt’ fashion:
    A) Whoever is able should come earlier
    B) The line will be constantly moving, with no stops. The text of tashlich can be said while in line
    C) One must listen to any and all rules by the organizers
  8. Motzei Yom Tov Farbrengen: The farbrengen will take place in front of 770. There will be an attempt to close Eastern Parkway, to allow for a large crowd to attend with proper social distancing.
