Oholei Torah Zal will be closed until after Sukkos after a number of Bochurim tested positive for Covid.
The Yeshiva wrote to the parent body notifying them of the development “We have been dealing with a few bochurim testing positive for Covid-19. The Zal has been on lockdown and quarantining for the past few days.”
“With Yomtov approaching and bochurim wanting to be with family, we are giving the option for the boys to safely quarantine at home. To make this possible, parents must sign a release form ensuring their son has proper transportation and will quarantine safely.”
For those that will not be able to quarantine safely at home, the yeshiva will keep the Zal apartments open through Simchas Torah. Food, a sukkah and whatever else necessary to make sure the students are comfortable will be provided as well.
Bochurim are required to adhere to the CDC guidelines and follow the quarantine rules. As per Dept of Health, having antibodies is not an exception.
They also noted that the Department of Health may be visiting homes to make sure that the students are quarantining properly.
