Close to 2,000 children gathered at Vine Park for Lakewood’s 6th annual Lag B’Omer Kinus and event, in a remarkable display of achdus and Yiddishe pride.
The large-scale event was organized jointly by six Chabad centers across the area, including Chabad of Toms River led by Rabbi Moshe Gurarie, Chabad of Jackson led by Rabbi Shmuel Naparstek, the Israeli Center led by Rabbi Avremi Lebovitz, Heichal Hachassidus led by Rabbi Chaim Meizels, and Chabad of Western Monmouth and Ocean Counties under the auspices of Rabbi Baruch Chazanow.
Children from all backgrounds and circles came together for the uplifting two-hour program, which focused on the special koach of Lag B’Omer and the yahrtzeit of Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai.
A highlight of the gathering was the recitation of the 12 pesukim, especially meaningful as this year marked exactly 50 years since the Rebbe first launched the campaign. The children also recited Tehillim together and gave tzedakah.
Throughout the event, bochurim distributed raffle tickets for exciting prizes, including large seforim sets and more.
A large stage, powerful sound system, lively music, and engaging performances kept the spirit and energy of the participants high from beginning to end.
Special guest and popular singer Yidi Bialostotsky entertained the crowd with lively niggunim and singing as the children danced with excitement. Renowned storyteller Ari Gluck captivated the children with his engaging performance, while the participants also enjoyed an exciting puppet show.
At the conclusion of the program, every child received a refreshing ice treat as they left uplifted from the tremendous kinus and the joy of yiddishkeit.
