After evacuating hundreds of women and children from Ukraine, shliach Rabbi Shlomo Wilhelm of Zhytomyr broke into a joyous dance with remaining community members in honor of Rosh Chodesh Adar II.

After davening shacharis and mussaf with the community members still in Zhytomyr, Rabbi Wilhelm began singing joyous niggunim, dancing for many long minutes and proclaiming their trust in Hashem with a emotional singing of Ani Maamin.

In the past few hours, the city of Zhytomyr, Ukraine came under heavy aerial assault, including airstrikes to residential areas and a maternity hospital. A number of people have been killed.

“We are continuing to send busses with any Jew who is willing and able to leave, and the busses won’t stop until everyone is out, or the situation makes it impossible,” Rabbi Wilhelm told Anash.org.
