In advance of the siyum of the eighth Children’s Sefer Torah, organizers met with Rabbi Meir Porush, Minister for Yerushalayim, to coordinate the event.

The delegation was led by Rabbi Shmuel Greisman, international director of Ois B’Sefer Torah, members of Beis Din Rabbonei Chabad Rabbi Avrohom Michoel Halperin, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Gluckowsky, and Rabbi Naftali Rot, chairman of Tzach in Yerushalayim.

Also joining the meeting were event producers Meni Lerrer and Yisrael Nabul of “Tzvaim Productions,”  ad the members of the organizing committee Rabbis Noam Roth, Shnnor Raskin, and Shneor Kurtz,

During the meeting, Rabbi Porush seized the opportunity to purchase letters in the Sefer Torah for a number of his grandchildren.

The siyum is being held in record time, with only two years having passed since the last siyum. Thousands of letters are being purchased each day, and around 10,000 letters remain to be purchased, as of Wednesday morning.

As by the previous siyumim, the upcoming siyum will be held on Chof Av at the Kosel in Yerushalayim, with the participation of many thousands of Chassidim and others from around Eretz Yisroel.
