With their public menorah lighting and Annual Chanukah Experience on hold for this year, Rabbi Yerachmiel Zalmanov of Chabad of Eastern Queens planned an innovative way to spread the light and joy of Chanukah throughout the community.

This past Friday, over 50 eight foot tall street banners ,bearing a Happy Chanukah message from Chabad of Eastern Queens, were hung from street lamp poles covering an almost 2 mile stretch of Union Turnpike.

The original Pirsumei Nisa campaign is filling Eastern Queens residents with excitement and Jewish pride, for they experience the spirit of Chanuka literally “ in the air” as they shop and drive down one of the main thoroughfares in Queens.

Many residents were proud to join in this all- encompassing campaign by displaying matching Chanukah yard signs prominently in their front yards.
