Despite the recent upsurge in coronavirus cases in his city, Cincinnati Mayor John Cranley wasn’t going to give up the chance to host his annual Chanukah celebration.
The mayor invited Rabbi Gershon Avtzon, Rosh Yeshiva of Yeshivas Lubavitch Cincinnati to light the Menorah in the mayor’s office and share words of Torah.
Joined by two of the Yeshiva’s shluchim, Rabbi Avtzon lit the menorah’s first candle after honoring Mayor Cranley with lighting the shamosh.
The group also erected a 5-foot public menorah outside City Hall, to spread the miracle of Chanuka with all city officials and residents.
