Ukrainian Orphans Celebrate Purim in Yerushalayim

Over 100 orphans from the Chabad orphanage in Zhytomyr, Ukraine, who had arrived in Eretz Yisroel after Russia invaded Ukraine, celebrated at a grand Purim party with Shliach Rabbi Shlomo Wilhelm and Yerushalayim Mayor Moshe Leon.

Over 100 orphans from the Chabad orphanage in Zhytomyr, Ukraine, who had arrived in Eretz Yisroel after Russia invaded Ukraine, celebrated at a grand Purim party together with adult refugees from Zhytomyr and shliach Rabbi Shlomo Wilhelm, the city’s Chief Rabbi and Head Shliach.

The event was held at the Gutnick Halls in Yerushalayim and was joined by Mayor Moshe Leon and deputy-mayor Rabbi Yaakov Halperin, Chabad’s representative in the Yerushalayim city council.

The children enjoyed a full Purim program, including performances and special activities for the orphans, along with a fully catered meal, and l’chaim for the adults.
