Thousands of men, women, and children gathered at the Monsey Park & Ride on Monday evening, the first day of Chol Hamoed Sukkos, for a Mega Simchas Beis Hashoeiva organized by Merkos Ufaratza Lubavitch.

The event followed the Rebbe’s instruction to organize Simchas Beis Hashoeiva celebrations with music and dancing in the streets and to bring the simcha to every Yid.

Crowds came from across the Greater Monsey area, with Yidden from all different circles joining together for an evening of song and dance.

The program opened with the 12 Pesukim, recited by children from different Chadorim and Jewish schools throughout Monsey.

Rabbi Yisroel Silverstein, a second-grade rebbi and ventriloquist, entertained the crowd with a family-friendly, Jewish-themed puppet and ventriloquist show.

Lively music followed, led by Choni Milecki and a full seven-piece band, joined by popular singers Eli Marcus and Berel Zucker. The dancing continued for hours, with numerous rabbonim, local politicians, and community leaders joining in.

Several elected officials addressed the crowd, among them Senator Bill Weber, Assemblyman Aron Wieder, State Senate candidate Joe Rand, and Rockland County District Attorney Tom Walsh.

In the middle of the event, the generator blew and the power went out. With the help of Light It Up, Chaverim of Rockland, and Yossi Margaretten, a new generator was quickly brought in, and the celebration resumed without a long interruption.

The event was organized by Merkos Ufaratza, led by Monsey shliach Rabbi Dovid Weber, with the support of numerous donors and community members who helped make the celebration possible.

“Whoever didn’t see the Simchas Beis Hashoeiva in Monsey cannot understand true simcha,” Rabbi Weber told Anash.org.

“Thousands of Jews from all different backgrounds were dancing in the streets of Monsey. This is what the Rebbe asked from us, and we were privileged to accomplish it.”
