Among the grand mivtzoim taking place throughout New York during Chol Hamoed, dozens of bochurim and yungelait headed out each day to Brighton Beach and Sheepshead Bay, bringing the joy of Sukkos to thousands of Yidden along the Brooklyn waterfront.

The bochurim, organized through Mivtza Lulav, set up shop along the busy boardwalk and surrounding areas, offering passersby the opportunity to make a bracha on a lulav and esrog and experience the joy of the Yom Tov.

Brighton Beach and Sheepshead Bay are packed with thousands of Jews, with the waterfront and boardwalk especially busy. Hundreds of Yidden had the opportunity each day to make a bracha on the arba minim and participate in the mivtza.

Sukkah Mobiles from the Mitzvah Tank Office, stocked with lulavim, esrogim and other Yom Tov supplies, joined each day, providing a place for Yidden to sit in a sukkah, make a bracha, and learn more about the mitzvos of Sukkos.

The mivtza brought the Rebbe’s message of spreading Yiddishkeit to Jews wherever they are, giving hundreds of Yidden the opportunity to experience the joy of Sukkos and fulfill its mitzvos.
