Thousands Celebrate Sukkos Overlooking Niagara Falls

A Sukkah with a magnificent view of Niagara Falls welcomed thousands of Jewish visitors from around the world, with minyanim, arba minim and a special Bar Mitzvah celebration adding to the simcha of Yom Tov.

Thousands of Jewish visitors found a warm welcome and a breathtaking view at Chabad Niagara Falls USA’s Sukkah this Chol Hamoed, celebrating Yom Tov amid the wonders of Hashem’s creation.

Led by Rabbi Yehuda and Yehudis Lorber, Chabad organized the Sukkah in collaboration with New York State Parks. Its unique location in the heart of Niagara Falls State Park offered families the opportunity to fulfill the mitzvah of sukkah overlooking one of the world’s most magnificent natural wonders.

Throughout Chol Hamoed, visitors had access to the Sukkah, minyanim and arba minim, along with exclusive discount coupons for local attractions and hotels.

Guests repeatedly expressed their gratitude for having a Sukkah right at the Falls. For many, it became a highlight of their visit. One elderly frum visitor from Brazil said that his entire journey had been worthwhile just for the opportunity to be in the Niagara Falls Sukkah.

Niagara Falls Mayor Robert Restaino, a representative of New York State Senate Minority Leader Senator Rob Ortt, and other government and community leaders visited the Sukkah to show their support for Chabad and the entire Jewish community.

Chabad’s preparations for Yom Tov also extended to the border. Ahead of Sukkos, the shluchim briefed U.S. Customs and Border Protection personnel at local ports of entry about the arba minim, familiarizing them with the lulav and esrog and explaining their significance during the holiday.

A particularly special highlight was the Bar Mitzvah of the shluchim’s son, celebrated in the Sukkah itself. With the Falls as a backdrop, family and guests sang niggunim, said l’chaim and listened as the Bar Mitzvah bochur recited his maamar.

The celebration brought the warmth of a chassidishe farbrengen to the spectacular setting, creating a beautiful kiddush Hashem and kiddush shem Lubavitch. The simcha made waves: visitors arriving in the following days had heard about the celebration and came to wish the shluchim mazal tov.

With Sukkos behind them, Chabad Niagara Falls USA continues serving Jewish residents and travelers throughout the year.

To help support these activities, Chabad’s Israel raffle is still live, offering a chance to win two airline tickets to Eretz Yisroel. Help Chabad bring the warmth of Yiddishkeit to Niagara Falls—
