Thousands Celebrate Completion of 7th Children’s Torah at the Kosel

Thousands gathered at the Kosel in Yerushalayim on Thursday, Chof Av, for a joyous celebration marking the siyum of the 7th Children’s Torah, written to fulfill the Rebbe’s call to unite all Jewish children through writing special Sifrei Torah.

Following the writing of the final letters with a limited crowd, the Torah was brought to the Kosel, where thousands were waiting including many chassidim who hadtraveled from across Eretz Yisroel to join the celebration.

Joining the siyum were a number of prominent rabbonim and dignitaries, including Chief Rabbi of Israel Dovid Lau, Former Chief Rabbi Yisroel Meir Lau, Chief Rabbi of Yerushalayim Shlomo Amar, Rabbi of Kosel Shmuel Rabinowitz, and members of the Beis Din Rabbonei Chabad.

The celebration continued for hours, with the crowd dancing to Chabad niggunim, sung by Nemouel and Avi Avidani.

Following the siyum at the Kosel, a smaller crowd returned to the Tzemach Tzedek Shul, where hakafos and a seudas mitzvah.

Thousands more from around the world participated in the siyum through the live broadcast on Anash.org, fulfilling the Rebbe’s request at the farbrengen of 15th Menachem Av 5746, that “every chossid should take part in the completion, with his soul, his body, and his resources.”

The campaign to help support the siyum is live until Sunday night in New York. For a donation of approximately $55 (180 Shekel), you can receive a piece of cloth from the mantle of the Sefer Torah as a memento from the siyum.
