This past Sunday, the Sunday morning Kollel in Lefferts Shul this week hosted a special guest shiur, led by an expert in topics of technology and Halacha.
Every week, over 20 members of Anash gather to listen to a Halacha shiur in Lefferts shul and enjoy a light brunch. A different guest speaker is invited every week, and a thought-provoking and relevant topic is chosen.
This Sunday, the shiur was delivered by Rabbi Tzvi Ortner, director of the technology and Halacha department of the OU. Rabbi Ortner, who also serves as the rov of Cong. Linath Hatzedek, deals on a constant basis with finding solutions for Shabbos problems associated with modern appliances and technology.
The shiur addressed common problems and question that come up on Shabbos with regards to technology, including questions about refrigerators, security cameras, motion sensors, and ovens.
