Success of New Panama Yeshiva Nothing Short of ‘Miraculous’

As Kolel Torah Panama finishes its first half a year, the tremendous success of the Talmidim Hashluchim and their major impact on the Kehila in such a short period of time, is nothing less than a miracle.

What started as a dream by a group of dedicated balebatim and Chabad activists in Panama (brothers Shmuel & Yehoshua Dornbusch, and Mr, David Bresler), was fulfilled with much love and dedication by the excellent group of Talmidim Hashluchim sent from Beis Medrash Oholei Torah headed by Rosh Yeshiva Rabbi Mendel Shuchat and mashpia Rabbi Yisroel Krasjansky all under the  leadership and guidance of Panama’s Head Shliach and Chief Ashkenazi Rabbi Aaron Laine.

The regular day to day learning includes Gemara Leiyuna, Halacha Community Rov Course of Lemaan Yilmedu with weekly tests and tri-annually final tests, Chassidus, Divrei Yemei Yisroel and Likkutei Sichos.

Aside from this rigorous schedule and goals, the Talmidim Hashluchim learn daily with talmidim of the Torah Ohr Mechina, Kids, Youth and Balebatim of all backgrounds and affiliations, inspiring countless Neshamos throughout Panama, and bringing them closer to the light of Torah and Chassidus.

Periodically, the Talmidim Hashluchim will enjoy special shiurim and farbrengens with distinguished guest speakers and Rabbonim. Some of these highlights were:

Inauguration and Chai Elul Farbrengen with Rabbi Shui Rosenblum of Venezuela. Shiur Kloli by Harav Hershel Schechter – Rosh Yeshiva of RIETS (YU). Yud Tes Kislev farbrengen with Rabbi Pinchas Soudry of Buenos Aires, Argentina. Halacha Yom Iyun with Rabbi Yossi Shuchat of Las Vegas, NV. Farbrengen with Rabbi Chaim Danzinger of Rostov, Russia. Shabbos Hachono for Yud Shvat with Rabbi Moshe Gourarie of Toms River, NJ.
