Southeast Yaldei Hashluchim Unite for Regional Shabbaton

Yaldei Hashluchim from remote communities across the Lower Atlantic gathered at MyShliach’s regional Shabbaton in Charlotte, NC, for a Shabbos of connection, chizuk, and fun.

Yaldei Hashluchim from across the Southeast arrived in Charlotte, North Carolina for MyShliach’s second Regional Boys Shabbaton, hosted by the Levin Family of Ballantyne Jewish Center. The Shabbaton drew boys from the Carolinas, Tennessee, Georgia, and Virginia, continuing the new series of regional Kinusim designed for Yaldei Hashluchim growing up in remote communities.

Organized by the MyShliach team at Merkos 302, the three-day Kinus featured camp-style Shabbos seudos, farbrengens, games, and group activities, led by a dedicated group of older bochurim. After Shabbos, the boys were treated to bowling and a trip to Slick City, a massive indoor dry-slide park. The boys headed home Sunday with new friendships, a renewed chayus, and energy that will carry them through to continue their special shlichus.

Rabbi Eli Reyder of Myrtle Beach, SC, said the Shabbaton filled a gap his children rarely get to experience. “My children have very little exposure to a chassidishe environment in Myrtle Beach. They are the only frum children in their class,” he said. “For them to have this opportunity, to meet other shluchim’s children in the area and be led by such amazing bochurim, is so meaningful. We are so grateful.”

Additional Boys Shabbatons are planned across various regions in the US, as well as international locations in Europe, the Caribbean, and Asia, with many Girls Shabbatons also in the works.

The Regional Shabbatons are organized by MyShliach and coordinated by Mendy Hirsch and Moshe Weiss.
