Teenagers have to rebel, right? But each one rebels in their own way. Rabbi Manis Friedman’s teenage rebellion was becoming a Lubavitcher!

Rabbi Yossie Shemtov, senior shliach in Tucson, AZ, for the past 44 years, shares a moving story from 1939 that he heard from both his father-in-law and his father. Rabbi Shemtov concludes the story with, “Today, we might tell the younger generation to look into the eyes of chassidim who merited to see the Rebbe. Yet when I observe the depth of hiskashrus among the younger generation, I sometimes feel that we should be the ones looking into their eyes.”

Shlucha-to-Hungary Sophie Bassman recalls her unusual childhood. When her father asked her what she wanted for her sixth birthday, she told him she wanted to go to the Ohel. The turning point, as she describes it, happened when “slowly but surely, three things happened. We became fully shomer Shabbos; my father converted; and his family disowned him.”

Leave it to Tzippy Clapman! This woman has no time to waste. In her popular column (“Tzippy Remembers When…”) she gives us the brachos to say when Moshiach arrives. There’s one to say upon hearing of his arrival; one to say upon seeing Moshiach; one to say when the dead come back to life; and  one to say when all the Yidden are gathered in Eretz Yisroel.

Dr. Donna Geffner shares her wisdom after over 40 years treating children with hearing problems. She answers questions such as: What are early signs of auditory processing delays that parents should look out for? Dr. Geffner also discusses why children who are raised frum are just better off in all ways.

Yossele Golding, age ten, is our man in Jerusalem! in this exclusive interview, read his views on making aliyah; on running to shelters in the middle of the night; and why he plans to name his future political party “Nilchamim Ad Hasof” (We Fight to the End). Yossele is strongly opposed to giving our Land to our enemies and he loves watching JEM videos of the Rebbe speaking on this topic.

Gitty Stern collected stories and wise advice about those shidduch reference calls we have to make and we have to take.

With large billboards on Kingston Avenue advertising kapotas on male models with trimmed beards, the issue of men trimming or even shaving their beards is growing more serious by the day. The N’shei Chabad Newsletter decided to address it from the perspective of how women can make a difference in this men’s issue; we thank Rabbi Moshe Wiener for doing all the work.

Chana Kornfeld, author of “Between Friends With Esther Etiquette,” shares ten stories about her illustrious grandfather, Reb Mendel New, z”l. Find out why someone he did business with said, “Mr. New, I’m never negotiating with you again!”

We thank our loyal readers for buying the N’shei Chabad Newsletter for themselves and their families. We thank our advertisers and we thank our generous donors. With your help and support, we hope we are making the Rebbe proud. We also hope we are making you happy!

Sincerely,

Your friends at the N’shei Chabad Newsletter
