Simple Vent Servicing Leads to a Slew of Mitzvos

What began as a simple dryer vent servicing request in Lauderhill took a meaningful turn when the technician asked about Hebrew shiurim for his religious Hebrew-speaking sister, which led to more mitzvahs.

When Roey Cohen arrived at the home of Rabbi Chaim Rosenstein in Lauderhill, FL, to clean out a clogged dryer vent, he expected a typical service call. But what unfolded was clearly Hashgacha Protis.

During their conversation, Roey shared that his religious sister had just landed from Eretz Yisrael and was looking for Torah classes in Hebrew. Rabbi Rosenstein immediately offered to assist, helping her find local classes where she could continue her learning in Hebrew.

As Roey was clearing out the clogged dryer vent, Rabbi Rosenstein spoke to him about the importance of Torah and mitzvos, inspiring Roey to put on tefillin on the spot as a zechus for the soldiers in Eretz Yisrael.

As he was leaving, Roey happened to mention that he is a Kohen. Rabbi Rosenstein seized the moment and asked him to recite Birchas Kohanim, which Roey gladly did.
