A new book, Shnayim She’hem Echad, has been released, telling the remarkable life story of R’ Yitzchak Nemes, a well-known stamp dealer, and his wife, Mrs. Zelda Nemes, a respected and beloved educator.
Published by the Nemes family in the United States and authored by Rabbi Zusha Wolf, a distinguished writer and historian, the book details R’ Yitzchak’s incredible journey—from his miraculous survival during the Holocaust to becoming a successful international stamp dealer.
More than just a businessman, he was a devoted Chassid with a deep connection to the Rebbe and a strong commitment to spreading Yiddishkeit. He was particularly dedicated to Mivtza Tefillin, personally participating regardless of weather conditions or his own health. In addition, he provided financial support to those involved in the initiative worldwide, especially in Eretz Yisroel, helping to expand its reach and impact.
Mrs. Nemes was a legendary educator, shaping the lives of thousands of students over nearly six decades. She was a woman of remarkable intellect, leadership, and warmth, serving as a role model both inside and outside the classroom. Her influence extended beyond education, as she played a key role in N’shei U’Bnos Chabad in Crown Heights and various charitable initiatives.
The book delves into their personal and joint contributions to the Jewish community, tracing their family roots, their work in chinch and shlichus, and their deep hiskashrus to the Rebbe. Richly detailed with historical accounts, rare photographs, and personal anecdotes, Shnayim She’hem Echad provides an inspiring glimpse into the lives of two extraordinary individuals.
Published in a beautifully designed 300-page full-color edition, the book is available in Eretz Yisroel and will soon be distributed to bookstores worldwide.
