Just a few weeks ago, Jacques connected with his local Chabad House in Gresham, Oregon, and put on Tefillin for the first time in his life.
In the time since then, and after the tragedies that happened in Eretz Yisroel, Rabbi Avrohom Dyce, the local shliach, held several community gatherings of Torah, Tefilah, and Tzedakah which included watching videos of the Rebbe about the situation in Eretz Yisroel, recently produced by Jem.
Seeking to do whatever possible to help our brothers and sisters in Eretz Yisroel, a few days ago Rabbi Dyce asked Jacques if he would be willing to start putting on Tefillin daily.
Jacques enthusiastically agreed, saying that he was inspired by the videos he had seen over the last few weeks videos where the Rebbe emotionally spoke about the power of Tefillin to subdue our enemies and bring security to the Jewish people.
Since then, he has received his own pair of Tefillin which he is putting on daily.
