Rabbi Moshe Aharon Wilhelm, among the prominent members of the Beis Yosef Chabad-Lubavitch Shul in the Beis Yisrael neighborhood of Yerushalayim, passed away on the Friday morning, the 2nd of Shevat.

Rabbi Moshe Aharon Wilhelm, among the prominent members of the Beis Yosef Chabad-Lubavitch Shul in the Beis Yisrael neighborhood of Yerushalayim, passed away on the Friday morning, the 2nd of Shevat.
He was 98 years old.
He was born on the 25th of Teves, 5687, to his father, Rabbi Chaim Dovid Wilhelm, and his mother, Rebbetzin Chaya Beila. Through his father, he descended from a distinguished lineage of devoted Chassidim, tracing back to the chassidim of the Alter Rebbe, notably Rabbi Yisroel Yoffe, the printer of Kapust, as well as the renowned Rabbi Yisroel Shimon Shein, a devoted chossid of the Tzemach Tzedek, as well as the great Torah luminary, the Chida. From his mother’s side, he was a descendant of Rabbi Ephraim Yosef Ashkenazi, Rav of Zlotchov, Rabbi Yoel Ashkenazi, author of Shu”t Mahar”i Ashkenazi, as well as the Baruch Taam and the Chavas Daas of Lissa, and the tzaddikim, Reb Shlomo of Karlin and Reb Yehuda Leib HaKohen, author of Or HaGanuz.
He married Rebbetzin Chaya Sarah, daughter of Rabbi Elimelech and Rebbetzin Nechama Weisberg.
Following their Chasunah, the young couple established their home on Shmuel HaNavi Street, later moving to Tzefania Street, near the Chabad neighborhood in Yerushalayim.
He was among the prominent members of the Beis Yosef Chabad-Lubavitch Shul in the Beis Yisrael neighborhood of Yerushalayim, where he davened where he davened b’avodah for lengthy periods.
Rabbi Wilhelm was privileged to establish a distinguished chassidishe family, with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren spread across the world as shluchim, rabbonim, and prominent figures within Chabad.
He was predeceased by his son Rabbi Nota Shlomo Wilhelm and his daughter Batsheva Eisenbach, both from Yerushalayim.
He is survived by his children: Rabbi Nachman Yosef Wilhelm (Toronto, Canada), Rabbi Yitzchak Wilhelm (Crown Heights), Rabbi Baruch Wilhelm (Nahariya, Eretz Yisroel), and Mrs. Feiga Bracha Wolvovsky (Crown Heights).
He is also survived by his siblings: Rabbi Baruch Wilhelm (Crown Heights) and Mrs. Rivka Hertz (London, UK).
His levaya will be taking place on Friday at 11:00 AM in Yerushalayim.
The family will be sitting Shiva at his home, 12 Tzefania Street.
Rabbi Yitzchok Wilhelm will sit shiva at his home in Crown Heights on Friday and Motzei Shabbos – 1359 Union St. Afterwards in Yerushalayim.
Rabbi Boruch Wilhelm will sit shiva at his home in Crown Heights – 609 Empire Blvd.
