Rabbi Chaim Shlomo Reinitz, who merited to serve at the Yomtov meals in the Frierdiker Rebbe’s apartment, passed away on Monday, 4 Kislev, 5782.

Rabbi Chaim Shlomo Reinitz, who merited to serve at the Yomtov meals in the Frierdiker Rebbe’s apartment, passed away on Monday, 4 Kislev, 5782.

He was 76 years old and passed away after suffering from a terrible illness.

Rabbi Chaim Shlomo was born to his parents Rabbi Moshe Kalman and Shaindel (Rosenfeld) Reinitz, on the second day of Shavuos 5705.

As a young man, he became acquainted with Chabad and began studying at the Achei Temimim Yeshiva in Rishon Lezion with Rabbi Chaim Shaul Brook, and later in Lod with Rabbi Shlomo Chaim Kesselman.

In 5723, he traveled to the Rebbe for the first time and spent the next few years studying in Tomchei Temimim 770.

During the years 5724-28, he merited to assist during the Rebbe’s Yomtov seuda in the Frierdiker Rebbe’s apartment n the second floor of 770.

After his marriage in 5728, he lived in Crown Heights until 5744 when the couple returned to Yerushalayim where they resided until 5766. They then moved to Kfar Chabad.

He is survived by his children Rabbi Moshe Kalman Reinitz – Crown Heights, Rabbi Shmuel Reinitz – Miami, FL, Chana Henya Shmerling – Kfar Yona, Israel, Nechama Dina Vogel – Beitar Illit, Israel, and grandchildren.
