R’ (Aharon) Arke Tzivin, who ran House of Glatt on Kingston Avenue for close to 40 years and was known for helping families in need, passed away on Erev Shabbos, 11 Tammuz, after an illness.

He was 69 years old.

R’ Arkeh was born to R’ Tzvi Hirsch and Mrs. Menucha Bracha Tzivin, who left Russia after World War II together with many Chabad chassidim. He grew up in Kfar Chabad and later moved to Crown Heights.

He married his wife, Guggie, daughter of R’ Yisroel Duchman. In 5740, he began running House of Glatt, the butcher shop and takeout store opened by his father-in-law on Kingston Avenue.

For close to 40 years, R’ Arkeh ran House of Glatt on Kingston Avenue, where many Crown Heights families came for their Shabbos and Yom Tov needs. He is remembered for his friendly smile, honest business dealings, and help to families in need.

He was known to extend credit and assistance with dignity, without fanfare. When the store changed ownership in 2018, many in the community recalled the years in which he served the neighborhood with dedication and care.

Alongside his work in the store, R’ Arkeh was known for his open home and hachnosas orchim. He also kept a daily seder in Chevra Shas, located near his store on Kingston Avenue.

In recent years, the Tzivin family moved to the Five Towns.

He is survived by his wife, Guggie; his children, Grunie Tzivin -Yerushalayim, Riki Gaerman -Five Towns, Rosie Tzivin – Five Towns, and Sroly Tzivin – Little Rock, Arkansas; and by grandchildren.

He is also survived by his brothers, Motti Tzivin and Note Tzivin of Kfar Chabad, and his sister, Mrs. Naomi Arieli of Yerushalayim.

The levaya will take place on Sunday, passing by 770 at 2:30 PM, with kevura at 3:30 PM near the Ohel.

Boruch dayan hoemes.
