Preparations are nearing completion for this year’s Hachnosas Orchim for bochurim traveling from around the world to spend Tishrei near the Rebbe’s Ohel, with a record number of more than 150 bochurim from the large yeshivos in Eretz Yisroel expected to participate.

For the fifth consecutive year, Hachnosas Orchim is preparing a full gashmius and ruchnius hachnosah program, providing the bochurim with the support they need to spend Tishrei near the Ohel, immersed in Torah and Chassidus without having to worry about food and accommodations.

The program has continued to grow each year, with the organizers expanding the assistance provided to the bochurim.

Preparations began many months ago, with the Hachnosas Orchim hanhalah working closely with Rabbi Abba Refson, director of Ohel Chabad-Lubavitch, to coordinate the various aspects of the program and ensure that every detail is in place.

The preparations were carried out in consultation with Rabbi Zalman Gopin, who has been closely involved with the Hachnosas Orchim’s activities. The organizers have also maintained ongoing communication with the hanhalos of the yeshivos in Eretz Yisroel regarding the bochurim’s arrival and the chinuch considerations involved in spending Tishrei in the daled amos of the Rebbe.

A major new initiative this year is that Hachnosas Orchim has taken full responsibility for the bochurim’s lodging. Until now, the bochurim had to pay separately to rent beds in accommodations near the Ohel. This year, apartments have been rented, with those requiring it renovated and prepared, allowing all the guests to stay at significantly subsidized rates.

Another major challenge was the dining area. After two years of hosting the bochurim in the basement of the home of shliach Rabbi Sagi Har Shefer, the space was no longer large enough to accommodate the growing number of guests.

To address the issue, the yards of two of Rabbi Hershfer’s homes were combined into one large area, and a raised concrete floor was poured over the entire space. A large temporary tent will be erected there for the month of Tishrei. The tent will comfortably accommodate all the guests for meals and will also serve as a venue for shiurim, panels, and other programs.

Another significant addition this year will be the participation of rabbanim and staff members from the yeshivos in Eretz Yisroel. They will travel to the Ohel to accompany the program, deliver shiurim, serve as mashivim, and farbreng with the bochurim.

Despite the considerable expense involved, the Hachnosas Orchim hanhalah decided that bringing the rabbanim and staff was important to help the bochurim make the most of their time during Tishrei.

A special, professionally prepared learning booklet has also been produced for the bochurim, featuring selected material chosen with the guidance of the rabbanim.

With all these preparations and new initiatives, the organizers are confident that the bochurim will be able to utilize their time to the fullest and bring the Rebbe much nachas.

The Hachnosas Orchim program is being made possible through a crowdfunding campaign, with shluchim and Anash around the world taking part in supporting the initiative.

Leading the effort to fund the special project are the philanthropists Rabbi Eliyahu Schlossberg and shliach Rabbi Yitzchok Mishaan, along with shliach Rabbi Shmuel Yeshayahu.

The organizers express the hope that, even before this Tishrei comes to an end, we will merit to see the Rebbe “Melech B’Yofyo” in the Beis Hamikdash HaShlishi, with the Geulah Ha’amitis V’hashleimah.
