Two years ago, four-year-old Shmuly Oirechman was seriously injured when an arrow struck him in the right eye. It was during a family fun day in honor of Lag B’Omer when children play with bows and arrows. Shmuly’s right eye was severely damaged.

Since then, Shmuly has had consultations with top doctors around the country, undergone multiple surgeries at UCLA, in the effort to save his eye and restore his vision.

Despite the initial prognosis not being very good and a number of setbacks along the way, over the past few months Shmuly has been making a remarkable recovery. A surgery was canceled a few months ago because it was deemed unnecessary due to the incredible progress Shmuly has made.

Tonight, May 20th, Rabbi Schneur and Chanie Oirechman will be hosting a zoom meeting to share the challenges and joys of Shmuly’s journey, 2 years after his miraculous eye surgery.
