In a show of unity and pride, Jewish families across Central Africa held a massive live Lag Baomer event.

The event was organized and sponsored by Rabbi Shlomo Bentolila, Head Shliach to Central Africa and brought together Jewish families from 15 diverse countries. The event especially highlighted all 10 Chabad Houses, shluchim families and activists across the region, including those recently welcomed into the family of shluchim.

Close to 900 people, many with several participants, took part in this first of its kind celebration.

Hundreds of texts and video clips of happy children participating and dancing from families currently in Africa, along with many families currently in Israel due to the current world situation, as well as families who used to live in Africa, were sent to the shluchim with words of appreciation and thanks.

Chabad Lubavitch of Central Africa currently has 10 Chabad Houses located in Democratic Republic of the Congo, Nigeria, Angola, Ghana, Uganda, Tanzania, ivory Coast, Rwanda, Kenya and Ethiopia and also serves the smaller Jewish communities of other countries such as Senegal, Sierra Leone and Gabon.
